Finnerty Gardens

The Finnerty Gardens have native and exotic plant species. Many species of fauna are also found. The interfaith chapel is an ideal place to practice any faith in a welcoming and accepting evironment according to international students.

Arbutus Beach

These three beaches are very easy to find ( Cadboro bay, Arbutus beach and Telegraph beach ) and are described as the "best place you have never been" according to the Global Community.

Mystic Vale

There are many trails here which are easy to access. The idea of Victoria second growth forest areas are an important part of the local community identiy including Douglas Fir and Hemlock trees, and this is a great place to see it without going to far away form the Campus.

Mystic Vale

Mystic Vale is a forested ravine that was acquired by the University of Victoria in 1993. It is a Douglas Fir Ecosystem located on the Hobbs Creek watershed that is protected from development in perpetuity. It is home to more than 75 native plant and wildlife species, including Douglas firs, Indian plum, Snowberries and the sword ferns that cover the slopes into the gully, as well as five species of woodpeckers. 

Mount Tolmie

Located near UVic, Mount Tolmie is a popular place to take photos due to its 360-degree view of Victoria from the top. It is known as the best place to view the city. There are many trails within the park that lead to the summit, through meadows and up rocky slopes. It is also a great spot for bird watching and quiet contemplation. 

The Quad

The Quad is a great place to take photos because of the amazing trees throughout the seasons and all of the natural light. The totem poles near the perimeter are also popular photo ops. 

Finnerty Gardens

Finnerty Gardens is a popular spot to take photos at UVic because of the beautiful flowers, plants, ponds, winding pathways and dozens of benches, each with its own distinctive view of the garden. The best time of year to wander and take photos is in the spring, when the rhododendrons are in full bloom. 

Mystic Vale

Mystic Vale is a beautiful spot to take photos at UVic. Trees up to 500 years old provide a gentle canopy over the paths where students, neighbours and dog-walkers escape the otherwise residential surroundings.
